Base metals recover

Select base metal prices such as tin, nickel and copper recovered in the range of Rs.5 to Rs.10 per kg in the national capital on fresh buying by stockists following firming trend at London Metal Exchange.

Tin ingot found fresh buying support and gained Rs.5 each at Rs.1165 per kg. The metal remained weak in previous day's trading on lack of support. Nickel plate prices also recovered by Rs 10 at Rs 1240-1340 per kg. Copper wire scrap, copper super-D rod, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were higher by Rs. 5 each at Rs. Rs.364, Rs.390, Rs.360 and Rs.347 per kg respectively.

Traders said apart from better trend at London Metal Exchange where tin rose by $400 to $22,700, nickel by $250 at $22,400 and copper added $105 at 8,435 per metric tone respectively last night and fresh buying by stockists mainly led to rise in select b ase metals.
