| Australia's Mincor Resources (MCR.AX: Quote) has started a study into reopening of its Miitel nickel mine as prices for the steel alloying metal rise, the company said on Thursday.
The study, looking to identify additional ores rich enough in nickel to warrant a restart, will be completed in May, Mincor Managing Director David Moore said in a statement.
"We have just started a detailed study into the re-opening of Miitel, including timing, costs, operational structure, manning levels, the capital development implications of the new discoveries, and so on," Moore said.
"We are very confident that it can be restarted quickly and profitably, and will make a further announcement in May, once our reopening study is complete," he added.
