Shanghai Metal Corporation is manufacturer and supplier of Aluminum Sacrificial Anode.
An aluminum sacrificial anode is a metallic material used in cathodic protection systems. Its core principle operates through the electrochemical corrosion principle, where it actively sacrifices itself to protect connected metal structures (such as pipelines, storage tanks, ships, etc.) from corrosion.
Aluminum sacrificial anodes are deliberately designed to possess a more negative electrochemical potential than the protected steel structure. When the two are electrically connected and immersed in an electrolyte, the aluminum anode continuously dissolves (sacrificing itself), releasing electrons. These electrons flow through the connecting conductor to the protected steel structure, suppressing its inherent corrosion reaction.
In modern cathodic protection technology, particularly in seawater environments, aluminum sacrificial anodes represent an efficient, lightweight, and economical choice. Their high electrical capacity constitutes their core competitive advantage, making them an indispensable asset for protecting weight-sensitive structures like ships and offshore platforms. Through rational alloy design (primarily the Al-Zn-In series), they overcome the drawback of pure aluminum's tendency to passivate, enabling stable and efficient output of protective current.

Packaging Aluminum Sacrificial Anode
Shanghai Metal Products are packed and labeled according to the regulations and customer's requests. Great care is taken to avoid any damage which might be caused during storage or transportation. In addition, clear labels are tagged on the outside of the packages for easy identification of the product I. D. and quality information.
