Product Detail

Calcined petroleum coke CPC is a black or dark gray hard solid petroleum product with metallic luster and porosity. It is a carbon body made of tiny graphite crystals formed into granules, columns or needles.

Petroleum coke must be calcined to meet the requirements of industrial production. The calcination temperature is usually around 1300°C. The purpose is to remove the volatiles in petroleum coke as much as possible.

It greatly reduces the hydrogen content of calcined petroleum coke and improves the degree of graphitization. As a result, the high-temperature strength and heat resistance of the graphite electrode are improved, and the conductivity of the graphite electrode is improved.


  • 1.High Carbon Content: Calcined petroleum coke typically has a high carbon content ranging from 98% to 99.5%. This high carbon content ensures excellent performance in carbon-related applications, such as anode production and steelmaking;

    2. Low Ash and Sulfur Content: The calcination process reduces the ash and sulfur content in petroleum coke, making it suitable for applications that require low impurity levels. Low sulfur content is particularly important in steelmaking, as it helps minimize environmental emissions and improve product quality;

    3. Consistent Quality: Manufacturers carefully control the calcination process to ensure consistent quality of the final product. This consistency allows users to rely on the properties of calcined petroleum coke for their specific applications.











  • 1. High carbon : High purity 98-99.5%

    2. Low sulphur : 0.01% ~ 0.05%. Low sulphur and stable distribution can effectively reduce the adverse effect of sulphur inspheroidizing and pregnant process to the alloy, and it saves the cost.

    3. Low nitrogen : nitrogen content 50 PPM ~ 300 PPM(0.005%-0.03%)

    4. High carbon recovery: 95- 99%.

    5. Fast absorption speed: it's easily dissolve in the molten iron.

    6. High graphite crystal nucleus and high graphitization degree: it can reduce the iron liquid contraction tendency and improve the mechanical properties of casting.

    7. It may increase the dosage of scrap steel and reduce the demand of pig-iron or even without adding pig iron. It may well effectively avoid the heredity of pig iron to affect the casting

    8. Stable carburetion, good absorption rate and distinct temperature-lifting effect: There is no return slag. It can effectivelyprotect and lengthen the furnace life and reduce the consumption of the furnace lining.


  • 1. Aluminum Industry: Calcined petroleum coke is extensively used as a carbon additive in the production of anodes for the aluminum smelting process. It helps improve the electrical conductivity and mechanical strength of the anodes, enabling efficient and high-quality aluminum production;

    2. Steel Industry: CPC is utilized as a carbon additive in the manufacturing of steel and iron. It acts as a recarburizer, effectively increasing the carbon content and enhancing the properties of the final product. Additionally, it aids in reducing the sulfur content during the steelmaking process;
