Shanghai Metal Corporation is a leading Magnesium Alloy Sheet / Strip manufacturer and supplier.
Magnesium alloy sheet and strip are wrought lightweight structural materials rolled from magnesium‑based alloy ingots, mainly available in flat sheet form and continuous coil strip form. Compared with steel and aluminum material, its low density reduces component dead‑weight while maintaining acceptable load‑bearing capacity. This material delivers damping performance to absorb mechanical vibration, and blocks electromagnetic interference for electronic assemblies. It can be cut, stamped and CNC‑machined into target dimensions, solving the weight‑reduction demand for moving parts and EMI shielding requirements for consumer electronics. It is widely processed into structural parts for transport equipment and shielding components for digital hardware.

4. Surface structure & function difference
Mill‑finish surface fits later spraying or anodizing to save cost. Polished surface removes rolling texture for parts with direct visual appearance requirements.
5. Form‑to‑application matching rule
Thickness below 3 mm is usually supplied as strip coil for electronics stamping. Thickness over 3 mm adopts flat sheet for aerospace and automotive cutting parts to reduce customer material waste.
1. Low Density Performance
Density reaches approximately 1.78 g/cm³, around two‑thirds of aluminum alloy. Helps cut overall part weight without redesigning assembly connection structure.
2. High Damping Capacity
Absorbs mechanical vibration energy under cyclic working condition. Reduces vibration transfer and noise generation for vehicle and machinery assemblies.
3. Reliable Electromagnetic Shielding Ability
Blocks outside electromagnetic wave interference. Protects internal circuit signal stability for electronic housing components.

4. Good Machinability
Supports CNC cutting, stamping and bending under suitable processing temperature. Shortens material‑processing cycle for customized size batches.
5. Full Recyclable Property
Scrap magnesium alloy can be remelted and reused. Reduces raw‑material cost for long‑term mass‑volume projects.

3. 3‑C Consumer Electronic Housing
Suitable for notebook, tablet and mobile device shell blanks. Good electromagnetic shielding prevents signal disturbance; strip‑coil form fits high‑speed stamping production. Recommended grade AZ31B‑O, thickness 0.2‑1.5mm strip coil.
4. High‑speed Rail Auxiliary Parts
For inner decorative supporting plates inside rail carriages. Vibration‑absorbing performance improves passenger riding comfort. Recommended grade AZ31B, thickness 2‑8mm sheet.

Standard Packaging
For magnesium alloy sheets: Each sheet is wrapped with anti‑rust paper and PE protective film. Multiple sheets are separated by anti‑shock foam pads, fixed inside fumigated plywood wooden case to prevent collision and oxidation during transit.
For magnesium alloy strip coils: Every coil is wrapped with anti‑rust paper plus waterproof PE film. Coils are secured by steel strapping on fumigated wooden pallets.
Clear printed outer labels mark alloy grade, temper, dimension, gross weight and batch ID on wooden case / pallet surface.
Shipping
We support FCL full container sea freight, LCL consolidated sea freight and air freight, determined by total cargo weight, volume and destination address. Available trade terms include EXW, FOB, CIF. Other terms may be available upon request. Shipping cost is calculated by gross weight, cargo volume, destination port and selected transport method.
Lead Time
Samples: 3‑7 working days
Standard stock‑size orders: 15‑25 working days
Customized temper / dimension orders: 25‑40 working days

Q1: How long does sample preparation take for magnesium alloy sheet or strip?
A: Conventional stock‑grade samples take 3‑7 working days. Samples requiring special temper or non‑standard dimension will extend to 7‑12 working days.
Q2: What information do you need to provide for a formal quotation?
A: Please provide alloy grade, temper, thickness × width × length, required form (sheet or coil), order weight, destination port and preferred trade term.
Q3: What is your MOQ for magnesium alloy sheet / strip?
A: MOQ for stocked standard sizes is 50 kg. Customized rolling batches need minimum 500 kg. Small sample orders below MOQ are acceptable with additional processing charge.
Q4: What quality standards can your magnesium alloy products comply with?
A: Products follow ASTM B90 and GB/T5154‑2010. Material test report including chemical composition and mechanical properties can be supplied.
Q5: What is the difference between AZ31B and ZK61M magnesium alloy sheet?
A: AZ31B is Al‑Zn‑Mn wrought magnesium alloy with good formability for stamping parts. ZK61M (Zn‑Zr series) achieves higher tensile strength after heat‑treatment, suited for high‑load structural components while formability is lower than AZ31B.
Q6: Which temper should I select for deep‑drawing stamping work?
A: O‑temper fully annealed material is recommended for deep drawing. H24 half‑hard material suits simple bending only and is not fit for complex deep‑draw forming.
